Biddenden, Kent

Today's photograph is of The West House Restaurant in Biddenden, Kent. I chose this picture as I took 4 of my regular customers there for a special evening. This was to sample the menu that the Owner/Head Chef, Graham Garrett, had designed for The Great British Menu competition on BBC Television. Unfortunately he did not qualify for the 'cook off' with the judges having been eliminated in the qualifier this evening.

Biddenden it's self is a small Kent village famous for The Maydes of Biddenden. Siamese Twins Elisa and Mary Chulkhurst born around 1100 were joined at the hip and shoulder. When one of them died 34 years later the other died soon after as they were unable to be separated. If you look closely at the photograph the 'carving' on the wall of the restaurant depicts the twins.
