Hay Field

A trip to Arbroath found the town almost deserted and completely closed down for the second day of the New Year holiday. It was cold and windy, the sea looked quite agitated. We had a short walk but did not remain long. It was time to consult the satnav and look for some establishment which might be open.

We settled on the Carnoustie Golf Hotel which is only about seven miles from Arbroath. When we arrived at the hotel a mix of rain and snow was falling from the sky. nonetheless there were people out on the course. A coffee and a glass of water at the bar was taken though I was tempted by a sandwich, it was shortly after lunch time.

Following the satnav back to the A90 for the return to Aberdeen we went along a country road where we spotted these highly decorated hay bales. Fortunately there was no traffic so I was able to stop for a quick photograph. I am not entirely sure where we were, between Carnoustie and  Forfar somewhere.
