Another Languedoc year...

The jeweller's hands

One of my Christmas presents was an afternoon's course with a jeweller. I spent four hours watching Jan make a mould, pour molten silver, shape and polish a ring with exquisite care. I've never seen such a meticulously organised and fastidious worker. This is Jan checking to see where the citrine will sit once the ring is finished. There was still a long way to go with this piece, but I love his gnarly hands holding the ring.
