Sunset over Bute

A cold, perfect afternoon that began in the deceptively golden light of the declining sun, continued with a beach fire and scavenging grandchildren and ended with the walk back along the beach road under a perfect moon.

Never mind that the beach fire was mostly firelighter and dead grasses - the wood was all sodden - nor that I was chilled to the marrow: this was how a winter afternoon should be spent.

And I bet the fishermen you can make out on the shoreline were even colder!
