Last Day

Well, last day of the year, and correspondingly the end of an era, and the last day for one of our longest serving team members.

Mike joined us 12 years ago, working part time thru school and then while he got his degree. Joined us fil time, and since then has become an invaluable part of our team, and one of the most capable senior developers you’ll meet.

But the process we went through in our business recently made him think about what he was doing and where he was going. 12 years at the same company, the only job he’s had. So unfortunately he decided to move on.

We finished a little early, the few of us in the office, and recalled some of the fun times over the past 12 years, and there have been many.

Mike first day, he showed up, but we’d all gone away camping for the staff Christmas party. Mike and I going on holiday together (long story) and I ruining his t-shirt with flaming marshmallow, and then later enticing a kangaroo into his tent.  So many stories actually.

I know Mike will do well. He’s super intelligent, very committed and a brilliant developer. We’ll miss him a lot.

And I guess that’s it. 2014 over. What a year!  Amazing highs (trip to Europe), and some reals lows (business restructure) at the end.   Glad to see it over the be honest
