Mela coming

The local festival (Mela) is nearly upon us - and the village is in full spring-clean mode. Everywhere, people are cleaning and painting and getting ready for the 3 day gathering starting on the 18th.
Here we have a view just behind the 'Negi' house - up onto the main drag where we provision ourselves with bread, tea, veggies and lately (now that we've found her) the best momos in the village.
Momos as many of you will know - vegetable parcels of shredded cabbage & such, slightly spiced, wrapped in pastry and steamed.. served with a fiesty chilli based sauce.
The momos here are superb - and at 10Rs a plate, exceedingly cheap - bordering on exploitative. (at present it's about 80Rs / £1) One plate of momo comprises 8 of these hand made parcels. Totally yummy.
