Atlantic liverwort

This is one of the reasons I got this camera. I could never get the macro on the compact to behave.

This is a liverwort called Frullania dilitata (probably) on ash bark. This one is all over the UK, but some of the other liverworts are restricted to a 5 mile zone up the west coast of Scotland where it is (let's admit it) cool and wet all year.
