Jana council house

Jana is a very traditional village - where the corrugated tin rooves haven't yet got a foothold. Not that there isn't a road nearby - there is (leading to Bijli Mahadev via Jana falls - a man-augmented waterfall, popular with Indian Tourists / photographers, and with a local restaurant with a rather excellent selection of local foods / Corn rotis / large 'super'momos with crushed poppyseed inside etc etc) - but the village holds onto its roots. You are not supposed to touch anything inside the village - people, buildings, esp. temples.. but photographs only take souls - so that's OK then?!
The council house - 1000s of years old we were (un)reliably informed has been at the center of this unchanging scenario as long as everyone can recall. The central building, flanked by 2 extensions, is solid, beautifully carved and highly impressive.
Worth the 5 minute dash before we wended our ways homeward.
