Flooded forest

Paddled through flooded forest in the Mekong- the water level of the river has already dropped significantly since the rainy season ended- leaving small sandy islands and bushy shrubs. These huge trees towered above our kayaks, there beard like root structures curling up their trunks were the indication of how far the water would rise again with the rains.
