The Wonder of ICE

And totally ignoring safety signs…….

On all our trips overseas The Bossess is always the “entertainment director” and decides (with appropriate consultation) what will happen on any day so today ‘Cos they were feeling a bit under what with ongoing and ongoing colds she decided a lovely quiet wander to Mirror Lake would be in order.
Well 13000 steps later and a height gain of 1900 ft this image was captured at the foot of Vernal Falls…thats actually turn right rather than left and past the large red sign saying “STOP…Trail Closed…Rockfall danger”
I was completely Wiifless as The Boss picked his way over the river bed boulders some as high as a house, to finally perch on another BGR   (Bloody Great Rock) and set up his tripod while everything remained attached to him. From where he sat the camera pak I could see straight down the side of the of the aforementioned BGR to a cold watery death and was pleased that I was so well attached to the love of his life. Well actually I wasn’t as at that time a lady like yell attracted his attention to find The Bossess had picked her way into the riverbed and was standing on the far side of the watery death bit suggesting he turn round so she could take a pic. Turn round??? you must be joking…so he did  and I was convinced that The Bossess was about to collect the non existent life insurance money. Oh my Oh my Oh my…what us assistant editors have to put up with.
The river was full of opportunities like this and we also hiked almost to the top of the falls along a trail built out of shaped stone many years ago.
Paw Note….The Bossess has a seriously gammy knee and a date with a locksmith for key hole work later in the year so The Boss was stunned to see her on the riverbed. Walking poles are a many splendid thing.

She sends big thanks to you all for your gracious support of her post yesterday.

The Wifi situation will continue so we love to hear from you but getting sustainable connection on others journals is a lost cause.
