Survivor

The glass sheet I left out overnight had about a half an inch of snow on it this morning. A thorough scanning of the flakes on top was disappointing, there were none intact. They were in bits, either fragmenting as they tumbled from the sky or being crushed by each other as the arctic wind whipped them around. All except one at the bottom, which I wouldn't have seen had I not lifted it up and looked underneath against the sunlight. One teeny sparkling one.

Another teeny sparkling one and I hung out while her grandma took big brother to school. It always amazes me how much personality can be crammed into a body that isn't even three feet tall.
