Cherry blossoms

Striding across the Meadows yesterday and struck afresh by the loveliness of the cherry blossoms in full bloom.

The driving rain and blossoms brought Norman Bissett's poem 'Edinburgh Summer' to mind: 'Spring and then summer/ were grim seasons of monsoons...'

Norman's poem is part of 'This Collection', a collaboration between Edinburgh writers and filmmakers, which aims to create a detailed picture of day-to-day life in Edinburgh through the media of poetry and film.
