Invasion of the Christmas Trees

At 7.40 this morning Royal Terrace looked like the set for a rather odd sci-fi movie.

In one stretch of less than 20 yards there were no less than seven Christmas Trees scattered about the pavement and grass verge. It didn't take much imagination to believe they were on the march towards the Forth.

The prosaic explaination is that in Edinburgh these trees are put out for the recycling lorry to take away but the rising wind in the early hours had spread them about and created a comically sinister effect .
