Not the best scene of the day (that was crossing the river in my car without the camera and already late for work just as the sun was coming up over the hill which was turning the river with its slightly icy surface shades of orange and peach) but I love the flat blue color you get in the sky in winter. It always reminds of a Maxfield Parrish painting. Not that the view off the back deck looks like one of his works, just the color.
