Beech Gold

Mere seconds before this I'd been soaked by a freezing hail shower - which explains the dark sky - when a broad beam of brilliant sunlight brought out the coppery tones of this tree. In the depths of winter, I'm often grateful that beech trees tend to hold onto their dead leaves until spring. Taken on Portencross road, looking across the A78 up towards Fairlie Moor.
