Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

So many things to do in this city!  Today was our regular day to pick up Fiona (who did go to school and of course wanted to be picked up early!) so we got her sister too and went to the Burke Museum and the Henry Gallery on the UW campus.   Tatum was the only grandkid that hadn’t seen these exhibits yet and she wanted to see the seahawks mask put her photo on instagram like her cousins had done.   There was a place for kids/people to create some art and questions about what their inspirations were - you could write yours on the wall, take a picture and post it to instagram..  the grandsons inspiration had to do with football and football players,  Tatum’s today was “Bethany Mota” who taught her “to have confidence.”.  she also made a memory box.

Then we walked about 5-10 minutes to the Henry to show Tatum the Ann Hamilton show about animals and humans relationships and readings about.   first thing out the door fiona says “take a picture , Nanna, there’s a nest.. apparently they are studying nests at school.  Well she spied 4 on the way to the Henry- here’s one.— The highlight of this visit for Boppa and Fiona was to get stuck in the Henry elevator - an adventure that required phoning for help -Fiona saw the elevator number 10 right away…and waiting for the campus folks with a crowbar to come rescue them!   The skylight in James Turrell’s skyspace was open so we watched a star come out and an airplane fly by in the dark blue field.  That is normally Fiona’s favorite.  A fun afternoon and then we took them home for dinner....
