Fats ia japonica

Dreadful weather today. But before the heavy rain began I managed to get out into my neighbours garden to photograph this Fatsia japonica.
It is Japanese aralia, also know as False Castor Oil plant. It is good value as a winter shrub, with large evergreen leaves, architectural flower spikes followed by black berries.

We have been spared the Hurricane winds of Western Scotland but the forecast seems to be rain for a week. But we are accustomed to it even if it increases the challenge of blipping.
