Tim-berrr!

This big brute of a tree was a victim of last night's fierce gales and the cause of the power cut that we woke up to this morning. Not that I slept much, listening to the howling wind and waiting for a tree to come crashing through the roof, which, fortunately, it didn't. This time...

The emergency crew from SSE were on the job promptly, but it took them until noon to find and repair the fault, so I made my breakfast porridge on the little camping gas stove that P bought after the last power cut, and lit the fire because the heating hadn't come on.

The landline phone was dead and I couldn't recharge my phone whose battery was almost flat, but, as D#2 would say, "First World problem!"
