Unexpected visitor

A Peacock butterfly isn't very unusual in summer, but more so in January. After a series of adventures via being ceremoniously carried indoors and then escaping in the kitchen, pursued by cat, it was carefully moved into a large plastic tub with some sugar water and a slice of orange. I took this during the kitchen escape, and learned that Peacock butterflies tend to rest with their wings closed, so my hopes of getting a good picture of the beautiful patterns and eyes didn't quite work out.
