Christmas Trees in January

A bright, sunny winter's day.

We went out for lunch at the Pear Tree Restaurant in Auchterhouse, Angus. This is also the location of Auchterhouse Country Sports Centre, where there is Clay Pigeon shooting, Archery, Quad biking and Falconry. The Clay shooters were certainly making some loud bangs!

Alongside, there is a field where Christmas Trees are grown. Obviously, our trees don't suddenly appear in December, they are growing all year round. There are many such fields in this part of Angus and it seems to be a profitable business.

Just as we finished lunch, I was unwell and we had to send for an Ambulance, which arrived in 8 minutes. The staff at the restaurant were wonderful and even declined to take payment for our meals.

The rest of the story is told in my Journal entry for Friday, the 9th of January.
