Blanket

This blanket is very special indeed.  The coloured squares are knitted by Matthew's grandfather, who is in his 80's.  He has knitted many of them and Matthew's Mum had made them into all sorts of things from blankets to toys.  The knitting helped him after he lost his wife and also helps keep his brain active.

Julie, Matthew's Mum, knitted the squares together to make this fabulous blanket for us and I love it.  The edging is beautiful and makes the blanket very heavy and cosy.

It's lovely to have something handmade by both of them and I shall treasure it always.  It even has little bee buttons sown into the centre of two of the flowers.
