Sheltering

You can just about pick out the Faroe - Denmark ferry Norrona sheltering off the village this morning from the "Violent Storm" The Norrona used to come into Lerwick during the summer months on its way to Bergen and as a family we have been on it a few times although thankfully not this day.

The wind did touch 101 mph between 7 and 8  this morning and we could certainly feel the gust shake the house but it would appear that all slates have stayed where they should have.

No planes flying or internal ferries sailing due to the wind and no buses either at least to 4 pm. Police have asked that nobody drives unless absolutely necessary so may have to wait until tomorrow to see if any decent waves about.
