Monday Blues

Jean lamented over the loss of her newly built Tesco store.  She had hoped to get a wee part time job there, just for the company more than anything else.

Moira had heard it all before.  This is January, Jean moans in January she thought.  She told herself to try to at least appear interested and to stop thinking about Fireman Sam, January, in that new Fountainbridge Firebrigade calendar which Joyce had sent her for Christmas.  All the other Christmas presents had been chucked or was it recycled and re-gifted?

Meanwhile Margaret appeared to have forgotten the wool she was hoping to wind with Sheila.  No matter, Sheila seemed quite happy to assume to position without question.

Rita had decided that she couldn't make it out in such bad weather but had sent Henry with her stick to mind her place instead.  Well, you know these lunch clubs, your seat would be whipped away from you if you weren't there, people just assume you've died.

And what is it the sign above the door says?  'Everything Is Going to Be Alright'.  I'm holding onto that as much today as I have in the past.  It's so reassuring.
