The eternal optimist

'The Eternal Optimist' is a phrase we usually use in my family for the dog, who will always ask for what she knows well she won't get, but seems to fit the Lego cheerleader too, who was learning how to snowboard in the hope of making it to the States. Pointless, as even if she does make it into the suitcase, which is very doubtful, the weather forecast is awful - by which I mean looks like British winter weather, and anyway, there are limited downhill skiing options in the parts of Wisconsin I will be visiting, and even less in western Chicago! Her instructor was getting quite annoyed by the refusal to remove the pom-poms, but I think she felt they would soften her falls!
