Victor Meldrew Moment

Had one of these moments this morning when I became aware of the fact that, in spite of the forecast for snow, the Council in it's wisdom had decided not to grit the main road in Tobermory or the road to the school which has little in the way of pavements (cars were sliding all over the place) and lots of students walk to school.  I have absolutely no expectations of the gritting of residential roads but the main road which is really steep?  A friend who's a builder said he and his van slid down it sideways this morning, meeting an oncoming car that was luckily sliding backwards.  Fortunately the big Co-op lorry and the malt lorry in this blip are good and heavy, although suspect the drivers had a near heart attack when they came off the Salen road from the ferry and turned into Eas Brae.  I don't see myself as a moaning Minnie but have complained to every official I can think off.  M was heading to Oban today and on asking one official spokesperson if the road between Tobermory and Craignure was useable his reply was that it'd (alledgedly) been gritted at 6am and was passable with care and then to justify the non gritting in Tobermory said people shouldn't go out in these conditions.  Definitely Mrs Angry this morning - but calmer now!

Another weather related blip - sorry.
