Life through the lens...

By ValC

You go first!

A lovely morning, so out for a walk around our local Country Park.
The fist thing we saw were two bullfinches. Their bright pink/red breasts caught my eye.
Unfortunately before I could get the camera focused they had flown off.
We also saw among other birds, some long tailed tits, which just wouldn't stay still long enough for a decent photo, and a lovely little robin, who let me take a very good close up.
However it was these two ducks who made the photo of the day!

As usual quite a few people about walking their dogs.
The sun decided to disappear, and it turned quite cold, so went into the cafe for a warm, and a cup of coffee!
We were pleased to learn that a grant of £250.000 had been given to the Hall for refurbishment of the facilities, including new shop, toilets, and community barn area. Not so long ago they were talking about closing the place!

We had an enjoyable wine tasting evening last night.
As treasurer I was not happy that the restaurant charged us £60 corkage
for the wines we had for the wine tasting, and also charged us an extra 10% for service charge. Something we have not been charged at other venues. Needless to say we won't be going there again!
The best wine of the evening was :
Windows Estate, Basket Pressed, Cabernet Sauvignon.
from Margaret River, Australia.
Winner of a Decanter "Gold" award, but at £25.95  rather expensive!!!
( won't be ordering a case!!)
