Holy ghost?

From its position in front of a church, I assume this is meant to be the Madonna and child. 

But when I first saw it from the top deck of the bus, it was the spooky face that jumped out at me. 

Dentist first thing, meeting up in town. In between I nipped into the RSA's Open exhibition - where. as well as 'is photos, I saw some most unusual taxidermy.
