Royal Larceny

We sent a parcel of various bits and pieces to Poland before Christmas, well packaged and carefully weighed so it didn't have to go freight. What we didn't realise is that the bottle of perfume we put in there is a banned substance for sending overseas. So, the parcel triggered some form of alarm when screened and was hauled out for inspection. It was returned to us today. Fair enough, except for one thing. The bastards had removed the perfume anyway. So, why then could it not have carried on its (non-contraband) journey to Poland? Or why can't we have the perfume back?

So, apologies P & D but you'll have to wait a bit longer for your parcel and you now know what you won't be getting. You'll also be pleased to know, as I write this, Anna's keyboard is slowly melting under the ire of her email to Royal Mail.
