winter

Winter came today and caused long queues in town. Just at rush hour there was a sudden drop in temperature causing wet roads to freeze, followed by heavy snow and making many of the hills impossible to drive on - and there aren't many flat roads around Dundee.
Mr Rat went out but I could see the main road was almost at a standstill so I decided to wait (and he phoned me to advise it as he was stuck in the traffic) and do a few jobs at home.
Just outside the back door the jasmine had a coating of snow and looked very pretty.
I managed to get in to work not too late and it improved a bit, though more snow is forecast before the return of the gales.
