sensor end of the new mass spec

I spent some time to take a panorama shot of the new(ish) mass spec at work. It's quite an amazing machine, very impressive. I also got a demonstration of it in action. Basically this machine allows you to measure the isotope ratios in samples. These ratios can be used for example to get an indication of what the past climate was like. I quite liked the aesthetic aspects of the machine. Not too happy about the pano, it's quite tricky and I might need to rethink. More shots on flickr and more on mass spectrometry on wikipedia.
