Lowder Mill

Another weekend, another Open Garden. Lucky living in an area where we have a choice every weekend. This is Lowder Mill, Haslemere, an old mill going back to at least 1357 when the owner was fined for diverting a water course. The house that goes with the mill is original, 3 bay timber framed , 17thC and so pretty, I fell totally in love with it. The water gardens are an on-going labour of love and quite wonderful. This is part of the upper mill pond, still and quiet even on the busiest of open days. Further round we had tea overlooking the pond, assured that the homemade cakes had no calories whatsoever. I never saw any, either ....
