#Grit reimagined for @ccfest

First night of the festival, it's my night off so what do I do? Yup, go to one of the festival's shows & what a show it was.

For the original album - Grit by Martyn Bennett - think rave music with loops, a heavy bass and add psalm song, bagpipes and the recordings of travelling folk. It shouldn't work but it did. That was 2003. Now Greg Lawson has deconstructed the album and written a score for an orchestra. Again it shouldn't have worked but it did & over 2,500 people were there to witness it.

I can't believe it's 10 years since Martyn Bennett died but I think he'd have enjoyed this interpretation. Here's the original of Move to get you dancing.
