running towards nothing

Croxteth Hall

Spent a very interesting afternoon at Croxteth Hall listening to talks on food related archives including the Co-op, Mr Seel's garden in Liverpool and the London Clothmaker's Guild. I took the chance to walk round the lovely victorian walled garden - the wall has a double construction to allow warm air to circulate round and today the fires were lit to protect the fruit trees from frost, with smoke puffing out of the chimneys on to of the wall. Still a bit chilly for May!
