Prize winning sculpture in Saltwell Park

Saltwell Park is one of the best urban parks I have ever visited. This afternoon out for a walk I saw this sculpture in the park. Maybe a better description would be 'a model '. It won Gateshead Council a silver medal at the Chelsea Flower show in 2010. There are flowers on the bridge ( primulas in bud at the moment) which depict the runners who take part in the Great North Run. I always feel frustrated that it only shows half the bridge which is really no bridge at all. Of course I'm sure there is a good reason for this.
