Soup and other thrills

Called in at Polbain to get some docs signed and stayed for soup. Steve's heading off into the snow towards Orkney today and is taking some Summer Isles Ceramics with him. Mr Ceramics is shown here taking a picture of Mrs' creations before they depart for Stromness.

There was a gathering of (presumably) electrical engineers at the substation - busy fixing things, and being highly visible and hard-hatted. So far, so good tonight...let's hope the power stays on and everyone can have a relaxing weekend. With the wild weather and all the damage to power lines etc, extra staff have been drafted in from all over the country so they will be pleased to get home after a week of climbing up a electricity poles in a force 9 gale.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch the new windows and a door were fitted at the old house (the one I let for holidays) - it was bitterly cold for the joiners but they were real stalwarts. They were cheered by a cup of tea from the current occupant - and entertained by her bagpipe practice.

Infant P is entertaining guests this evening, I'm stuck in the kitchen studying the Screwfix catalogue.
