I have come to the seashore

It was raining this morning, but I had an urge to walk by the sea and my parents indulged my mad whim. We went on the bus and took sandwiches. I had hoped for some fierce waves, but the sun came out.. we had a bracing walk. The sea and sky were lovely to look at..so much better than a crowded summer beach.
Tonight we went to another film, "Testament of Youth". I feel as though I have been put through a mangle. Every scene was a joy to behold, perfectly composed and shot. I had read the book many years ago, so I knew what to expect. The audience hardly drew breath for the whole two hours. It was emotionally exhausting.
Now we are about to eat at a nice restaurant. I hear there is a lot of snow at home...
