Victorian Boots!

Yet another slice of Victorian Leicester.
This beautiful tiled advertisement is on the frontage of a former menswear shop.
There`s a relief carving on a tower on the corner depicting a mortar & pestle and the date 1840 so it was obviously the site of an apothecary.
Don`t know what the heck `Sea Breeze` was, or did it mean that if you had a bad head a quick trip on a schooner sorted you out!!!
Considering the age of this piece, the colours are brilliant.

Spending rather a lot of my lunch hours walking round looking up at buildings and getting some rather odd looks but hey ,it`s fun being a blipper!
