The Little Lyle Files

Heading North

It may not immediately be obvious but this is a shot of the 1810 London Kings Cross to Peterborough (Head code 1P06 if you are interested) passing Everton Level Crossing in Bedfordshire.  The slow shutter speed is apparent from the light from the windows creating lines across the photo and the fact that the two red lights seem to be on simultaneously.  As every driver will remember from The Highway Code, level crossing lights flash alternately.

We had a lazy morning this morning and I even managed a lie in compared to the recent experience of being woken up by one or other of the children in the middle of the night.  Consequently, I have not been grumpy today and I hope the children noticed and appreciate the difference.

We headed out this afternoon to buy a new winter coat for Alex as his had been damaged when it got jammed under a door at school.  Well actually, according to Alex, it was actually damaged when the teacher chose to yank it out from under the door, breaking the zip in the process.  Alex says that he would not have done it like that.

Rounded off the weekend at Pizza Express for a very enjoyable meal and then home for bath time and bed for the kids and a little bit of respite before bed for Mrs W and I.  The blip was taken to avoid yet another indoor flash lit shot of some possession with no particular significance to the day’s events.

Hope you've all had a good weekend and hope the week ahead goes okay for you.
