Land mark tree

I can not think what they call trees like this that are dead but still standing, here in Australia there are lots.This one has been around as long as I can remember I have that many photos of it ,but always happy to take another.
Headed off for the weekend and as we often do had to pass this tree, it is a bit of a local landmark most people recognise photos of it. My sister messaged to see what we were doing so I said we were away and she should be spontaneous and join us, she did  and we had a very relaxing night having a couple of Wines and a good catch up.
