Lift up your eyes and look on the fields .....

...... they're white and covered with snow!  A beautiful day for a walk ... sun, blue skies and not a breath of wind.  With my yak tracks attached to my shoes I walked with ease over the frozen patches of ice and snow surrounding the loch in the James Hamilton Heritage Park.  
The swans were having real difficulty as they tried to lift their cumbersome bodies off the ice before adopting a sort of skating action towards the small area of unfrozen water.  The birds on the ice are the lapwings who always congregate at the far end of the loch.
