A new game!

This morning my walking group had a walk through Chirk Castle's extensive grounds. It was very cold and icy but a beautiful day and a great start to the week.

We saw this herd of White Park cattle with some workers putting up a new fence for them. One got it's long horns inside the roll of fencing. I was a bit concerned that it was stuck but it pulled itself free. It then put it's head back inside and was rolling and re-rolling it from side to side with a group of others standing watching the display!

The breed were featured on Countryfile last night. Apparently they're the UK's most ancient breed dating from medieval times and a traditional parkland breed. The men told us that they're very placid and great characters - we could see that, they were beautiful animals too!
