Using Duty Free Treats

I'm always a sucker for a new mascara. I bought one from Benefit and it's amazing. I also bought some MAC goodies including the vampy red lippy pictured.
I want to learn how to apply eye shadow to create the smokey eyes look, instead of looking like I've attacked myself with crayola pens.
