Picnic in the snow.

Not only did the snow survive the night, but there had been fresh snowfall by the time we got out on a snowy adventure.

With a backpack full of sandwiches and snacks, we trundled off up the hill, past the farm and into fields of pristine snow. Unless you count the criss-crossing tracks of a hare (or two?) that is. The sun was very low as shown by W's shadow and every bump and dip in the field was really striking.

We stopped at the top of this mound to enjoy our winter picnic. It was sunny but the wind was cold and the wee ones struggled a bit eating their sandwiches with their slightly-too-large mitts.
