Five Years

Don't worry. Dylan's fine.
Five years ago today, we collected Dylan from an animal rescue centre. I had been helping out there one day a week, feeding and watering the smaller animals.
The rabbits were well fed and kept in clean surroundings but they were on their own and restricted in space and freedom of course.
We decided that we were in a position to take on a rabbit and Dylan always seemed like a placid bunny and so we selected him.
No-one was exactly sure how old he was or why he had been "handed in" but he was probably about two years old.
We gave Dylan a hutch and a run and he also was allowed to search around our garden for short periods of time.
We tried to pick him up but it was obvious he wasn't too keen on this.
About a year later, we adopted another rescue rabbit, Bandit, and after they both had "operations", we gradually introduced them, and very fortunately, they got on really well together. ( Not all rabbits do)
We love watching our rabbits and compared to many pet bunnies, we think they have a pretty good life. We would love it if they came to us, but they prefer to be left alone, although if we do manage to pick them up, they seem to be quite happy to be patted and groomed.
Dylan is one of the most beautiful rabbits I have seen and he seems to be in good health.
I guess he is probably seven or eight years old. ( pet rabbits can live until they are about twelve)
No punch line today
We are just delighted that Dylan is a part of our lives.
