Mono Monday - middle

An old sundial at the Castle of Good Hope - the picture was taken in the MIDDLE of Cape Town in the MIDDLE of the day.

Two explanatory notes. Firstly, you can see that the sundial is actually showing 11.30 rather than midday. I am assuming that this is due to its age - until 1903 South African Standard Time was GMT +1.5 rather than the current GMT +2, meaning that the clock is permanently half an hour slow.

Secondly, although the Castle is now in the middle of the city, it was originally built on the sea front, its current inland location being due to land reclamation.

Mono Monday - middle.
