HAVmeter

Hand-arm vibration is vibration transmitted from work processes into workers’ hands and arms. It can be caused by operating hand-held power tools, such as road breakers, and hand-guided equipment, such as powered lawnmowers. The HAVmeter is a device that attaches to the tool being used to carry out the work and measures the amount of vibration and the length of time an operator is exposed to vibration. A red light comes on if the operator reaches his acceptable limit of hand-arm vibration for that day. Although the device is quite robust, it is not indestructible as the picture shows. A pneumatic road breaker was dropped while this HAVmeter was attached and I'm afraid it is now irreparable!
