"Beginners worry about cost, amateurs worry about gear, professionals worry about light"

Not that I'm placing myself anywhere near the latter group, but I was reading about portrait lighting earlier in the week. An extremely useful article on the different lighting types and how to achieve them:

http://digital-photography-school.com/6-portrait-lighting-patterns-every-photographer-should-know

So I decided to try it out. In this picture, I've attempted 'Loop Lighting' by having the main source, in this case natural window light, above and angled around 45 degrees from the subject's face. The small shadow of the nose is key to this technique, something fairly simple which produces flattering photos :)

Hope the link is useful to some of you and enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Oh, what begins with 'C' in this picture? Well, cars of course! ;))
