Mauritshuis View

At the crack of dawn this morning we headed for the Gare du Nord and took a Thalys train to Rotterdam and then changed for the Hague, where we are staying. We're in a new hotel, just a block from the Mauritshuis, a small museum with an exquisite collection of mainly 17th century Dutch paintings.  It has recently reopened after a four-year renovation; it was wonderful to get reacquainted after past visits--the quality of the paintings is often simply stunning.

This image was taken from a window on the top floor of the museum--I was happy to catch one of the city's colorful trams.
