Damsels' Day!

It's all kicking off here! The pond is literally erupting with damselfly nymphs climbing up plants to complete their metamorphosis. The surface of the water is littered with cast skins of the larger dragonflies and now the plants have lots of the little white skeletons (exuviae) of the damselflies attached to them.
Its absolutely fascinating to watch the transformation. In this image the (4) buds on its thorax are the 2 sets of wings. Within an hour they have been pumped with I know not what (and can't find it on Google!) to become proper wings.
A couple more are in my blipfolio. Be back later when food has been consumed and visitors departed! x
