Curlews over the Brig o' Waithe

I headed along to the Brig o' Wailthe to try and see an otter. The weather was dry, but a very icy wind blew in from the sea . Birds about included wigeon, herons, two little grebe, cormorants, goldeneye, curlews, golden plover, lapwings and red-breasted mergansers. Several common seal were swimming about, keeping a watch on me as they went to and fro. I walked a little along the shore of the Bay of Ireland and then back to the road. As I approached the bridge I could see a large dog otter swimming on the loch-side of the bridge. It was too far for decent photos but I enjoyed watching it fish.
